About the Innkeepers

TODAY…

Paula continues their vision with the support of family and close friends, maintaining the same dedication to hospitality and service. Guests are warmly invited to experience Syringa Lodge and discover all that Salmon has to offer.

YESTERDAY…

Dave and Paula Tomlinson moved from Tupelo, Mississippi to Salmon, Idaho in 2004 to become the owners of Syringa Lodge. Over the years they built a welcoming space rooted in their shared dream of service, combining a love for the outdoors with warm Southern hospitality. Dave, a retired U.S. Park Service employee, especially enjoyed connecting with the guests sharing the rich history of the area. His unexpected passing in November 2020 left a lasting impact, and he is deeply missed.

A Tribute to the Life & Legacy of David Leon Tomlinson

David Leon Tomlinson, known as Dave by friends and family, was a retiree from the U.S. Park Service. He loved the outdoors and immersing himself in projects both large and small. The purchase of Syringa Lodge and the subsequent move to Salmon was the culmination of Dave’s dreams for retirement. His hard work and dedication to his family will always be remembered and cherished. Dave’s warm presence and ready smile can still be felt as you stroll the grounds or relax in front of the fireplace in the great room of the lodge.
